- A US military on official orders must have a valid U.S. Military Identification Card.
On the other side of the travel between US and Canada, travellers must have identification in their possession at the Canada border entry. Americans traveling to Canada may be required to produce valid Canada visa at the Canada border entry. The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) uses a number of identifications to verify a Canadian citizen who is returning to Canada from Canada foreign travel. Some of these identifications include:
- a valid Canadian passport
- a Canadian Emergency Travel Document
- an enhanced driver’s license issued by a Canadian province or territory
- or an enhanced identification/photo card issued by a Canadian province or territory
